BELS: Building European Links toward South East Asia in the field of EGNSS

Project description

The main objective of this project is to facilitate the breakthrough of European Global Navigation Satellite Systems (EGNSS) technology, with a particular focus on South East Asia (SEA), conducting a set of coordinated activities for awareness raising and capacity building which are cooperatively implemented by different European and Asia-Oceania actors such as universities, research and technology transfer centres, governmental agencies, companies and industries. The project has a strong focus on industrial partnership and support to enterprises. In addition, the project aims at consolidating the results achieved in past years by other EU funded projects so as to maximize their outcomes.

Indra´s Role

Indra participates as partner providing its extensive expertise in GNSS aspects.

The main tasks and contribution of Indra in the Project are the following ones:

• WP100: Support to the Project coordination and participation in the reviews.
• WP200: Contribution to events in Europe and to the analysis and experimentation of the ionosphere behavior impacts on the GBAS concepts in the SEA area.
• WP300: Participation in Asia-Oceania Regional (AOR) Workshops.
• WP600: Contribution to communication and dissemination activities.

The laboratory facilities of Indra Satellite Navigation Department will be used for the purpose of the proposed activities, mainly the GBAS Test Bed and the GNSS Monitoring tools.

Performances of signal, measurement, and data monitors can be evaluated independently

Seasonal variations effects can be addressed

Completeness of monitor implementation allows evaluation of combined performances

Performances of the executive monitor (fault detection, isolation, and exclusions)

• GNSS Monitoring Tools: Set of libraries for the different aspects of the GNSS monitoring, both in real-time and post-processing.

GBAS Test Bed: It is a research tool for the definition, implementation and evaluation of the mathematical and statistics algorithms needed in GBAS for the integrity monitors. Validation and characterisation of the algorithms:
