Indra will develop the simulator for the Airbus C295 military transport aircraft, a key component of the future pilot training center at Getafe Air Base

Indra becomes a simulator manufacturer for one of the most widely used military transport aircraft in the world
The new contract adds to others already won for the development of simulators for high-capacity aircraft, such as the C295 MPA maritime patrol aircraft, the A400M military transport aircraft, and the A330 MRTT air-to-air refueling aircraft
Indra is one of the world’s leading simulator manufacturers: it has delivered more than 250 simulators to over 50 customers in more than 28 countries
Indra has been selected by Airbus Defence and Space to develop the new simulator for the C295 military transport aircraft, which will become a central element of the future pilot training center that the Air and Space Force will have at its Getafe Air Base.
The company will develop a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) that will offer high fidelity and facilitate tactical mission preparation. This approach is one of Indra’s main differentiating factors, as it has focused its efforts on developing advanced systems that not only prepare pilots to control the aircraft, but especially to execute their tactical missions with complete precision.
To this end, the simulator will incorporate INVIS, the most advanced visual system available, and a geospecific database that will allow crews to train in fully realistic environments. This helps them become familiar in advance with the airports, runways, and bases where they will operate, increasing both effectiveness and safety. In this virtual environment, pilots can also repeat procedures, maneuvers, and contingency plans as many times as necessary so that, when the time comes, they can execute them almost automatically, with the highest possible speed and level of coordination.
Airbus Defence and Space is the prime contractor for supplying the complete Training Center, which includes the design and construction of the facilities, Indra’s flight simulator, and the initial period of comprehensive support for the center. From an industrial standpoint, the development of this advanced simulator strengthens Indra’s position as a leading supplier of simulators for one of the most widely used transport aircraft in the world.
The contract is in addition to the one awarded by Airbus Defence and Space in 2024 for the development of the simulator for the C295 MPA maritime patrol aircraft. The company has also developed simulators for the A400M and the A330 MRTT air-to-air refueling aircraft, consolidating Indra as a leading manufacturer of simulators for tactical and strategic military aircraft with high payload capacity such as these.
Indra currently holds a strong global leadership position in the simulation market and is recognized for its constant capacity for innovation. The company supplies training systems for all types of platforms—land, naval, and air—both civil and military, and has delivered more than 250 systems to over 50 customers in 28 countries. These include Level D flight simulators for the civil market and systems for military platforms as advanced as the Eurofighter, the A400M, and the NH90 helicopter.
