Ángel Escribano presents to Juan Manuel Moreno his strategy to double Indra Group's activity in Andalusia and expand its workforce to 3,700 professionals

The Executive Chairman of Indra Group, Ángel Escribano, met today with the President of the Andalusian Government, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, at the Palacio de San Telmo in Seville to present his goal of doubling Indra’s activity in this part of the country. The plan includes an investment of over €80 million in new industrial and technological capabilities and the creation of more than 500 additional jobs over the next two years, bringing the workforce to over 3,700 highly specialized professionals in cutting-edge technologies.

The plan presented by Indra Group’s Executive Chairman identifies strategic growth priorities in Andalusia such as the development of technologies and services related to 4.0 sustainment for the Army, smart industry, cybersecurity, electronic systems for aircraft, and production and engineering capabilities.

Expanding Indra’s workforce to 3,700 employees will also generate indirect employment across the network of suppliers and partner companies in the area, helping to boost the local economy and steer it toward high-growth technological activities.

Indra Group’s current operations in Andalusia include defense activities, space operations through Indra Space, and digital transformation and disruptive technology development through Minsait. This división is involved in key projects to enhance the competitiveness of companies across all sectors of the Andalusian economy—from finance and energy to industry and healthcare—while also improving public services.

As part of its commitment to Andalusia, Indra Group will also strengthen its existing relationships with major universities and vocational training centers in the region. The company has helped launch various academic chairs and provided young graduates with top-tier careers in the high-tech sector, retaining talent.

Indra Group also plays a key role as a driving force in the local industrial ecosystem, acting as a catalyst for the innovation capacity already present in Andalusia. The company maintains a close relationship with the Spanish Space Agency (AEE), headquartered in Seville, and in recent years has incorporated leading Andalusian companies such as Deuser—specialized in industrial digitization—and more recently Clue, which develops some of the world’s most advanced electronic equipment for aircraft.

Indra Group’s plan for Andalusia is part of the company’s broader strategy to scale up and strengthen its industrial capabilities, aiming to become the leading company in the aerospace and defense sectors in Spain in the short term. To achieve this, it is supporting the development of a network of companies, startups, research centers, and universities that contribute to the creation of cutting-edge solutions. It is also reinforcing its industrial footprint across Spain, aligning with the industrial plan defined by the Ministry of Defense.
