Indra collaborates in the international competition "The UAE Drones For Good Award" of the United Arab Emirates government
The competition will award $1 million to the best and most innovative idea for using civilian unmanned vehicles to improve people's lives.
Indra will form part of the judging panel and will also sponsor the International Community Award rewarding the most voted initiative.
The multinational has signed an MoU with the UAE Prime Minister's Office to contribute to the success of the initiative with its experience and knowledge in the fields of technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
Indra, one of the leading technology and consulting multinationals in Europe and Latin America, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE’s Prime Minister’s Office to collaborate in The UAE Drones for Good Award by contributing with its experience and knowledge in the fields of technological innovation and fostering entrepreneurship.
Organized and managed by the Prime Minister's Office, the competition is designed to explore novel civilian applications for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and offer practical solutions to improve people's lives. This initiative is framed within the Government Summit, an annual event organized by the UAE government to promote innovation in institutions, which each year rewards an idea in a specific field.
The international competition is open to any individual, team, institution, university or company, anywhere in the world. The only requisite is that participants post a brief description and a short video explaining their idea on The UAE Drones for Good Award website (www.dronesforgood.ae) by October 1st.
An Indra representative will be part of the evaluation panel that will judge the proposals submitted to the international competition and will select the ideas that progress to the second phase. The final phase contestants will be invited to the UAE to present their proposals. The winning initiative will be awarded $1 million.
In addition, Indra will sponsor the "From Idea to Reality" community prize for the most voted international semi-finalist initiative. The multinational will support the prize winner in the conceptual development of the idea as well as the design of a business plan, providing personalized advice from experts in innovation, UAVs, smart cities and entrepreneurship. The ultimate aim is to provide the winner with the necessary tools to create a startup based on the proposed idea.
