Indra Group hosts Secretary Duffy and Senator Marshall at Kansas facility to highlight aviation and defense manufacturing

Indra Group USA hosted U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy and U.S. Senator Dr. Roger Marshall for a high-level tour of its manufacturing facility in Olathe, Kansas. Accompanied by members of their respective staffs, as well as Frank McIntosh, Chief Operating Officer of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and City of Olathe Mayor John Bacon, the delegation met with leadership to observe active production lines supporting critical aviation, communications, and defense infrastructure.
The visit highlights a major operational milestone for Indra Group USA: the 118,000-square-foot Olathe facility is now fully operational, with production underway for next-generation radars and NEXCOM VHF/UHF air-to-ground digital radios supporting key FAA programs. The facility will also produce more than 1,500 ADS-B radios, as well as portable Tactical Air Navigation (MP-TACAN) systems for the U.S. Air Force.
“Kansas has a proud aviation history, and we need to make sure our infrastructure is keeping up. From modernizing our air traffic control systems to investing in our airports, these improvements are critical to keeping travelers safe, supporting good-paying jobs, and keeping America the gold standard in aviation,” said Senator Marshall. “I appreciate Secretary Duffy being here today to discuss how we can strengthen our aviation infrastructure and make sure Kansas remains a key part of America’s transportation future.”
“It was an honor to welcome Secretary Duffy and Senator Marshall to our Olathe facility to showcase our cutting-edge technology and high-quality U.S. manufacturing operations that are supporting the modernization of the U.S. National Airspace System,” said Víctor Martínez, Executive Vice President of Air Traffic Management and Mobility at Indra Group. “With our Kansas facility now fully operational, Indra is supporting key FAA and U.S. Department of War programs with mission-critical radars, radios, navaids and defense systems. Our U.S. teams have already delivered more than 3,500 radios, commissioned 7 radar sites and deployed SAI systems at 12 airports. This investment reflects our long-term commitment to BNATCS success, to our partnership with the FAA and U.S. defense agencies, and to strengthening the safety and resilience of the nation’s airspace.” The Olathe facility represents a $50 million investment by Indra Group to expand its domestic production capacity and serve as an Indra Center of Excellence. Equipped with advanced manufacturing processes and automated electronic testing, the facility complements Indra’s existing 40,000-square-foot facility in nearby Overland Park, Kansas. Together, these operations support the creation of more than 200 high-quality local jobs, doubling Indra Group’s local workforce in the United States while strengthening the U.S. air traffic control and defense industrial base
